Madvillain - The Illest Villains

I was only tryin' to have fun!"     Madvillain : "Get to work on these boys, anybody bring a gun for me?"     1953년에 개봉한 공포영화 'The Wild One'의 대사를 샘플링한 것입니다.  ※ "I know they wanna kiss me, but don't let anyone see me like that      - please doctor help me!"     1957년에 개봉한 공포영화 'I was a Teenage Werewolf'의 대사를 샘플링한 것입니다.     여태까지 영화에 나오는 악당들은 악랄하기는 하나 나름의 가슴아픈 사연을 간직하고     있는 인물로 묘사되곤 했습니다.     하지만 Madvillain은 그들과는 달리 피도 눈물도 없는 최고의 악당이라고 말하고      싶은 것입니다.  ※ Man : "Your mother was the lightning!"     1942년에 개봉한 공포영화 'The Ghost of Frankenstein'의 대사를 샘플링한 것입니다.     참고로 이 영화는 Mary Shelley의 대표 소설인 'Frankenstein'를 바탕으로 했습니다.     소설의 주인공인 'Frankenstein'이 번개를 이용해 창조물을 깨우는 장면이 등장하는데      이 때 그가 말하는 대사이기도 합니다.     이 소설의 배경이 되던 18세기에 살던 사람들은 전기에 생명을 불어넣는 성분이     있다고 믿었습니다. <18세기에 뜨거운 이슈가 되었던 실험인 '동물 전기' 실험>  ※ Two historical figures, outlaws and desperadoes if that,     the villainous pair of really nice boys who just happened to be on the wrong side     of the law, 360 degrees.     이 문장은 '선'과 '악'의 가치가 뒤바뀌어 '선'이 '악'이 되고, '악'이 '선'이 되게 하는      Madvillain의 강력함을 나타내는 문장입니다.     또 다른 해석으로 '360 Degrees'를 'Five-Percent Nation'을 암시하는 단어이기도 합니다.     Five-Percent Nation은 흑인들을 계몽시키고 이슬람을 믿어야 된다는 교리를 가지고      있는 흑인 종교 중 하나입니다.     (실제로 MF Doom은 'Five-Percent Nation'의 신자입니다.) <Five-Percent Nation의 문장>
