 이건 모리세이의 전형적인 오타

우린 그 공동묘지 입구에서 만났어

(모리세이가 맨체스터 남부의 공동묘지를 다녀오고 쓴 곡인데

10대시절 모리세이의 절친이었던 린더 스털링과 약속을 잡고 만날때마다

이 공동묘지 입구에서 만났다고 함.)

니 곁엔 Keats(영국출신 시인) 와 Yeats(아일랜드출신 시인)이 있었지

A dreaded sunny day

지독히 화창한 날

So I meet you at the cemetry gates

우린 그 공동묘지 입구에서 만났어

니 곁엔 Keats와 Yeats가 있었고

While Wilde is on mine

나에겐 Wilde(영국출신 극작가)가 있었어

It seems so unfair

그건 너무 불공평한것같아서

너는 "저 태양이 새벽에게 3번 인사하기전에" 라고 말했고

(셰익스피어의 리차드3세에서 나온 표현을 변형한것.

"Ratcliff, my lord; 'tis I. 

The early village-cock Hath twice done salutation to the morn.")

And you claim these words as your own

이 단어들이 자신의 것이라 주장했지만

But I've read well, and I've heard them said

난 저 단어들을 계속 읽어왔고 

A hundred times (maybe less, maybe more)

한 100번은 들어왔어 (아마 100번까진 아니겠지)

If you must write prose/poems

너가 정말 시를 쓰고싶다면

The words you use should be your own

너만의 단어를 사용해야되

Don't plagiarise or take "on loan"

표절과 빌려써오는것도 안돼

Cause there's always someone, somewhere

항상 누구든 어디든 냄새를 맡고 그사실을

With a big nose, who knows

알아내는 사람이 있기때문이지

And who trips you up and laughs

그렇게되면 너가 실패하여 망해버릴때

(이구절의 의미는 3가지로 나뉨

1. 오래전에 행했고, 행해졌다

2. 오래전에 모든것들은 완성되었다

3. 오래전에 그 일을 했던 사람들은 이제 그일을 멈추었고

   그들이 했던 행위들은 그저 과거의 것일 뿐이다)

Words which could only be your own

그래 그건 너만의 표현이라 할수있겠네

And then produce the text

원고를 출판 하겠지!
