They did the job, money came with ease,

cop radioes it to another lady cop,

He ran by a tree, there he saw this sista,

a shot for the head, he shot back but he missed her,

Looked around good and from expectations,

so he decided he'd head for the subway stations,

But she was coming and he made a left,
하지만 그녀가 달려왔기에 그는 왼쪽으로 틀었어

he was runnin' top speed till he was outta breath,
숨이 찰 때까지 최고의 속도로 달렸지

Knocked an old man down and swore he killed him,
할아버지랑 부딪치고 죽일거라고 욕을 한다음

then he made his move to an abandoned building,
버려진 빌딩으로 재빠르게 들어갔지

Ran up the stairs up to the top floor,
맨윗층까지 계단으로 뛰어올라

opened up the door there, guess who he saw?,
그곳에 있는 문을 열었는데, 누굴 봤는지 알아?

Dave the dope fiend shootin' dope,
마약중독자 Dave, 마약을 하고 있었지

who don't know the meaning of water nor soap,
물이나 비누라는 걸 모르고 살았던 녀석이야

He said "I need bullets, hurry up, run!"
그는 말했어 "총알이 필요해요, 빨리, 도망쳐요!"

the dope fiend brought back a spanking shotgun,
그 마약중독자는 엄청 센 샷건을 그에게 줬어

He went outside but there was cops all over,
밖으로 나왔지만 경찰이 깔려있었기에

then he dipped into a car, a stolen Nova (?),
그의 차, 훔친 Nova로 들어가서

Raced up the block doing 83,
거리를 83마일(130km)로 달렸어

crashed into a tree near university,
대학 근처에 있는 나무에 박고는

Escaped alive though the car was battered,
겨우 살아났지만 차는 망가졌지

rat-a-tat-tatted and all the cops scattered,
그는 마구 달렸고 경찰들은 흩어졌어

Ran out of bullets and still had static,
총알은 다 떨어졌지만 포기할 마음은 없어

grabbed a pregnant lady and out the automatic,
임산부 한 명을 잡고 자동권총을 꺼내

Pointed at her head and he said the gun was full o' lead,
그녀의 머리를 겨누고, 이 총은 화약으로 가득차있다고 하지

he told the cops "Back off or honey here's dead",
경찰에게 말했어 "물러서 아니면 이 여잔 죽어"

Deep in his heart he knew he was wrong,
그의 마음속으로 그는 잘못하고 있었다는 걸 알았기에

so he let the lady go and he starts to run on,
아가씨를 놔주고 마구 달렸어

Sirens sounded, he seemed astounded,
사이렌이 울려, 그는 얼이 빠졌어

before long the lil' boy got surrounded,
곧 꼬마는 포위당했고

He dropped the gun, so went the glory,
총을 내려놨지, 그렇게 영광이 끝나는군

and this is the way I must end this story,
이렇게 난 이야기를 마쳐야겠어

He was only seventeen, in a madman's dream,
그는 겨우 17살, 미친 사람의 꿈에 빠져

the cops shot the kid, I still hear him scream,
경찰은 그를 쐈어, 아직도 비명소리가 들리는듯해

This ain't funny so don't ya dare laugh,

just another case 'bout the wrong path,
